Monica's Visit
I had the wonderful opportunity of being able to host Kevin's sister Monica this weekend! It was great to play big sister for a few days, an unusual experience for both of us. The guys were so excited to see her! I promised pictures to her mother, so here goes - they're mostly of the surprise party we threw for her birthday. I know it was hard for the family to send her away for a birthday, but I'm so happy and thankful that she came. We had a wonderful four days - I wish she could have stayed longer!

[caption id="attachment_1204" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Cecily, Gloria, Lindsay and...Minion. Yes, that's Minion. I'm going to miss her![/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1206" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Monica, eating the cake that I refused to take a picture of. Baking in the house dorms is always an iffy proposal! It tasted good though![/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1207" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Minion and my roomie, Ann.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1208" align="aligncenter" width="652"] At least two out of three are looking at the camera. :D It was so much fun watching those three together. I can tell they've missed each other while the boys are at school.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1209" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Some good friends celebrating![/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1210" align="aligncenter" width="652"] The food table, mostly courtesy of Kevin. Turns out if he has a list he's a pretty good grocery shopper. :)[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1211" align="aligncenter" width="652"] With scarf and earrings (gifts from yours truly). By lucky happenstance, the scarf matches her winter coat! Monica, you are a lovely young woman. I'm so glad I've gotten to know you, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1212" align="aligncenter" width="652"] One of Kevin's gifts to his little sister was a big sketchbook, which he was very excited to find. Her artistic talent is absolutely stunning.[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1215" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Monica sandwich! I don't think she could breathe when they finally let go. Brotherly love in action![/caption]

The pictures are wonderful! Thank you for hosting her and celebrating her birthday with so much enthusiasm and grace! She enjoyed her visit and did not want to leave!
ReplyDeleteAnna's faces. LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the goddess made some weird cameos... It's always strange when you realize what your face actually looks like when you're not posing. "My face can do /what/??"
